The circle in the square represents the relationship between one individual and one world.

The divided square represents all the dualities the individual soul experiences such as birth and death, light and dark, good and evil.

The triangle in the square represents the threefold nature of the human soul: thinking, feeling, and willing. It also represents the threefold nature of time: past, present and future.

The four quadrants in the square represent the four-fold nature of the human being: the physical body in space, the life body in time, the infinite relationships of the soul body, and the eternal nature of the individual spirit.

Wisdom

The calamity of 9/11 demonstrated that modern technology and human intelligence guided by hatred can lead to immense destruction. Such terrible acts are a violent symptom of an afflicted mental state. To respond wisely and effectively, we need to be guided by more healthy states of mind, not just to avoid feeding the flames of hatred, but to respond skillfully. We will do well to remember that the war against hatred and terror can be waged on this, the internal front, too.
